The quickest way to find out whether a career track suits you, before committing months to it. You are dropped into five decisions a person in that role actually faces — with the context they would have, and none they would not.

A Career Explorer question: a product manager choosing which of four features to build this sprint

How it works

  1. Pick a role track

Product, engineering, design, data, marketing or operations. Pick the one you are curious about rather than the one you think you should choose — nothing here goes on a record.

  2. Work through five scenarios

Each one is a decision with a real company situation behind it: a sprint with room for one feature, a launch that has slipped, a metric that moved for the wrong reason. Four options, all defensible, one best answer given the constraints.

  3. Read your readiness score

A score out of 100 against an answer key written by people who do the job, plus which of the decisions you got right and the reasoning behind each.

  4. Follow the roadmap

The report ends with what to learn next, in order, based on the specific decisions you found hard rather than a generic curriculum.

What you end up with

  • A career readiness score out of 100
  • The reasoning behind all five decisions, including the ones you missed
  • A personalised learning roadmap

What it isn't

Five decisions cannot tell you whether you will enjoy a career. They can tell you whether the decisions it is made of are ones you find interesting, which is a narrower but more honest question.
